The nose is focused and intense, with floral red fruit undertones and fine fresh acidity. The style is a touch more linear on the west side, with cooler, anise notes and brown spice. It’s worth noting how chalky and refined the tannin is here.

93 Points, Anthony Gismondi

Significantly riper than the 2013, this is dense with flavors of black olive, black fruits, dark chocolate and cherry tobacco. The tannins seem huge for Merlot, as is the case with all of the winery's 2014s, but given the region's standard flavor profile, these tannins are fully ripened and well matched to the 100% new French oak, contributing to lingering, trailing accents of espresso and smoke.
