2015 Attack Chardonnay

Winemaking and Foudre combine to impart aromas of the seashore with wet stones, flint and Asian spices on the nose combined with a tropical lift. The palate has a zesty entry, with a hint of richness and minerals followed by a lingering flavour of lychee, ginger, spice and saltwater. This is a unique, modern Chardonnay that also pays homage to the old world.

This marvelous Chardonnay was aged in a foudre which perhaps accounts for its mounth-filling fruit. The wine begins with aromas of citrus and spice. On the palate, the spice mingles with tropical fruit and leads to a long, savoury finish.

It's the brightness and what I like to term electricity that grabs you at the front of the glass. The minerality and texture is cru Chablis-like, and when you mix in a seashore breeze and flinty, saline notes flecked with bits of tropical fruit and five spice, you sense a special, complex version of chardonnay that will age well through 2021.

94 Points, Anthony Gismondi

This aromatic wine intrigues with tones of seashell, flint, grass and citrus. It opens into a textured, complex palate that brings in flavors of Meyer lemon and orange, with hints of jicama and white pepper.

92 Points, Paul Gregutt - Wine Enthusiast Magazine
